Also, I feel bet that I know that Gandalf, Skiingiggy, other someone really very love them and maybe they will plan make new paints and reskiiner on GE P40DC. Do you think that I'm correct or WRONG???:p:D:cool: I bet that you DO

but i'm thinking about NJT'S proposed nyc-atlantic city service that would need to be a p42. njt might get some.

What lines will this p40dc be on
 
none are in passenger service yet. They will be used for the NY-AC service on the weekend and will run in regular service during the week.
 
but helmer in order to get to NYC Penn u need a Dual Mode Locomotive to access third rail (like Metro-North P32AC-DM's in GCT and PAT),there is 3rd rail nearby,inside,approaching,and leaving penn.

But a P40DC is just a diesel locomotive, a P32AC-DM is a dual mode that can access NYP, diesels are not allowed in tunnels in new york.

There will be an alp on one side and a P40DC on the other side the Alp will act as a cab car on the AC line while the P40DC will act as the engine. and the P40DC will act like an cab car on the NEC and the ALP will act as the engine. The P40DC will be shutdown before enter NYP They chose the P40DC cause of the easy start up.( can be started in the cab by pushing a button) They will have about 90 miles from NY to Shore Int to get the P40DC started. Also P32AC-DM can be run into the north tunnel however the third rail would have to be expand for reiable service to allow time to get the engine started after coming out of the tunnel
