New to Trainz. I saw a clip on youtube and very interested. What version of Trainz is the best to purchase that has all NY Subway train sets and routes? Are most routes available?

I assume Trainz is compatible with Vista and Windows 7??

Re downloaded all the subway cars yesterday onto my netbook copy of 2006. lost count how many there is between Jeffmorris, Magicland and i think 1 other creator.

Except for 3 errors that i fixed all downloaded ok except for the usal problem where the config has a older KUID in it and download helper did not want to download the lastest version witch I just tagged and downloaded ok. Looks like they don't used the door KUIDs anymore must have been added to the main mesh

Next trick is to find a low enough poly layot to run them on. looked at subway but the elevelted section looks like it might be high poly, might try NYCTA2007

After my last post I decied to check what I have.

Downloaded 64 car sets, some are duplicates by different authors
witch includes
2 Straten island car sets
2 Path car sets
1 CTA R36 Red/Silver or white/Blue ends.
3 NYCTA works cars R27/33/127
The rest are BMT/BRT/IND/NYCTA

Of the above 15 have changable destination in the config file,

one of these R27/30 has 6 liveries that can be selected as well, Green/Greenbird/Red/Redbird/Grey/ white.

Routes:
NYCTA2007 loads and runs OK in 2006, this system is so complex no wounder they say people get lost, I am not supprised.

IRT 1910 Seems to have a level problem in 2006 looking out of the train the top is all sky and the bottom half show the correct subway while underground, looking in Surveyor some of the tunnels looked filled.

NYCTA Same problem as above

Forgot to add Subway by Klinger works great in 2006, do find the elevated section a little high in poly on this machine but could be fixed by replacing some of David drakes higher poly buldings for my own use.
