native framerate

This may be a silly question, but isn't there a native "show framerate" function in Trainz?
So far I've only been able to check my frame rates (which are great) in 2006 using Fraps.

You can get a weighted average from your TrainzDiaG file located in your main Trainz directory, but I'm guessing you want the frame rate at particular points. If that is the case, FRAPS will give more specific information.

OK, I guess I use Fraps then. Just wondering, so used to having that option in the flight sim.
Thanks for your quick reply.

Hi AJ,

That would be the JetLog and not TrainzDiaG I would say? ;)

Cheers... :)

Run Trainz windowed to get the frame rate displayed continuously in the title bar.

add the following to trainzoptions.txt

-windowed

Windowed

Why window down Trainz when FRAPS will show in a corner on full screen? Is there a special reason?

FRAPs tends to drain a bit of 'puter power, so goes a slightly lower reading than if fraps weren't running :)

At least I've noticed having fraps in the background tends to make my stuff run a little slower than normal.

That's a good point!
I still think using Fraps is the easy way to go, UNTILL SUCH TIME THEY DECIDE TO HAVE FRAMERATES SHOWING IN TRAINZ (anybody seeing this hint???), just like we have it in Flight Simulator.

Thanks for the input.
