Narrow Gauge routes

Hi there,

I am Alec Butler. This is my first thread on trainz forums. I have been a trainz nut ever since the beginning. I love different layouts that were set during the steam age as well as narrow gauge routes. Does any one know of available ng routes on any sites?
Just curious.

There's loads of narrow gauge routes, you just need to look. I've got a few on the DLS - just search my username in Content Manager. Also one at Trainsim.com (my updated Sulitjelma line).

A must have route is the Welsh Highland/Ffestiniog railway by clam1952 also on the DLS.

Darjeeling Himalaya is a legendary Trainz route - http://www.darjeelingtrainz.com/

I'm sure others will be along with more suggestions too.

Unfortunately, there are no standards when it comes to naming layouts uploaded to the DLS so finding narrow gauge layouts can be difficult - starting with which narrow gauge (2ft, 3ft, 3ft 6in, etc) are you looking for.

Some creators have adopted conventions such as adding the text string NG24 (for 2ft) or NG36 (for 3ft) or NG42 (for 3ft 6in) in the layout names while others use "3ft" or "3 ft" or "36in" or "36 in" (all variations which makes searching difficult). Be persistent and try all sorts of string combinations - you probably won't get them all but you will find enough to keep you busy.

Thanks for giving me these links. I was just wondering of where else to find Narrow Gauge routes. I remember some routes from the now closed Parrott Workshop. One of them is the Fross Canyon route. I do know some other narrow gauge routes on DLS, but I can't remember all their names. This next question may be off topic but I am having trouble with the website 30ng.webs. Every time I click on the picture of download it goes off to an unwanted link. Hope you guys can help me out with these topics.

I assume you mean 30ng.webs.com. Looks like the site is largely abandoned. A lot of the content appears to have been created by others users. Not sure the guys operating the site had permission to offer it for download. You should be able to find it on the DLS.

William
