Naming objects?

I have add some downloaded objects from DLS. I would like to name them so navigate to picks them up. How would one do this?

You can rename the objects by changing the username in the config file.

If you are using TS2006 - TS2010, you do this through CMP/CM.

Select your the asset you want to rename.
Open for Edit in Explorer
Edit the Config.txt in Notepad
Change the username to what you want
Close notepad and save the file.
Close the Windows Explorer window
and Commit the asset in the CMP/CM database.

It's a lot easier to do than to type out the steps here.

Navigate To will list only Industry type assets such as interactive industries and portals. If the item you want to rename is not one of these, place a trackmark at the location, give it the name of your choice and use the Navigate To Trackmark command.

To make any trackside object appear in the Navigate To list, start Surveyor and after placing a trackside object select the ? (or press the N key) then name the object. If the object already is installed find it in the Object table and then select ? and name it.
