Has anyone gotten the N&W y6b working and has the big steam interior cab view desync been fixed as well? using tane

As I remember it was no great challenge to get it working although I did it over a year ago so I'm not sure. I don't understand your desync question though so maybe I missed something. TANE build 82718.

Norm,

dont wanna gimme pig lol, but is there a chance you could send me the fixed y? Not as a cdp, but as a folder format. Like when you open it for edit, and there's a bunch of mini folders and the config file, just all that stuff.

That most probably would be illegal.

Instead a description of how you fixed it would be great.

There is a group of people currently fixing 6000+ assets for TS12 and TANE. It could save them time to figure out how and then they can upload the fixed version to the DLS for everyone to download (so nobody has to resort to illegal activities).

I am missing kuid:523:1972917 and kuid:523:1972918 ineed these to get the engine to work
Those can be found in your TS12 install, though one will be faulty in TANE; the sound one.

I tired porting them over multiple times and both are faulty in tane for some reason. Can some give me a list or how too to get the y6b working again?

If I recall most of the errors are related to .texture files. Running these through PEV's Image2TGA will fix that issue without any problem at all.

Hi

You need TS12 build 49922 or earlier (pre SP1) to enable you to import the missing assets into T:ANE. As John says, they contain .TEXTURE files which require conversion with either PEV's Image2TGA or AssetX. I prefer AssetX as it will automatically convert all of the .TEXTURE files at one go.

Correct, Brian has it right. As I remember I exported all the dependencies of the Y6b as well as the main files as cdps from 49922 , imported them into TANE. and, for those that came out faulty, ran AssetX on them to correct textures and sounds (note I did not update them to a new build, they remain 2.9).

Edit: I did not overwrite any dependencies that were already in TANE.

Edit2: As I remember I did the same for the original sessions and their dependencies and for the route I spent two weeks replacing all the old speedtrees with mcguirel's payware speedtrees.

interesting.

I have a question, would it be possible to upload it to the dls, as part of the dls clean up, and name it 'y6b tane' and 'y6b tane tender? just asking.

that would be great, i too am having same problem
and same problem trying to get any of the AG classes to work-(cant find the dependencies anywhere)

Uploading the asset under a different kuid (unless you are the author or can proof having permission from the original author) would be illegal.
However...
If the new group works the same way as the now closed down DLS Cleanup program, the fixed version will eventually be put on the DLS as a new version of the current asset.

... but before that to happen, N3V first need to upload the now missing (and broken) dependencies to the DLS.
And for that to happen, someone needs to first report that as a bug. I know a lot, yet still have no clue how to do that (and am not motivated to learn that).

I'm not sure what the issue is here.

The locomotive and tender are available on the Download Station but the locomotive has two missing dependencies - the interior and the horn sound.

These can be replaced by editing the config.txt file of the locomotive in Manage Content.

For the interior I'd suggest the built-in Berkshire which is an excellent cab, kuid:523:19721258
For the horn, from the Download Station, kuid2:126323:54501:2

When editing the file remember to update the entries in the kuid table too.

One other suggestion. I'm not sure how the engine spec performs but an alternative that might be better is kuid2:69871:2132:1

The problem with the Berkshire interior is that it is payware so those that have the standard TANE don't have it.

Just to confirm that this is not a difficult fix, I deleted the Y6b interior from TANE, opened TS12 49922 and saved the interior to a cdp, imported the cdp into TANE, opened the interior for editing in TANE, ran AssetX and told it to repair the textures, and submitted the edits.

No problem at all.

If you don't own TS12 you will need to buy it (and somehow keep it at 49922) if you want this locomotive or wait until N3V offers it at some time in the future.

Edit: BTW my guess is that the reason this is taking so long is that N3V is hoping to release Norfolk & Western - Appalachian Coal in the same way they offered Mojave Sub Division

Do you actually have TANE Standard Phil?

The interior is listed in my TANE as Payware although the Tutorial #10 Steam uses the C&O Berk. I am not at all sure what it's status is. I do know I have seen folks requesting the cdp for it so I assumed it was not included in the standard version.

Hi normhart and Phil

I reinstalled T:ANE Deluxe yesterday and the Y6B definitely isn't built in to that. This is a clean install with nothing extra installed at all.

Nobody claimed it is in there. It is not and when you download it, it is faulty... which is the reason for this topic.

What Phil wrote is that the replacement assets he suggested are available for it.
