Is it a boxed version or a downloaded version?

If it's a boxed version, you may be out of luck.

If it's a downloaded version (this applies to later versions), have a look in your profile.

This is why it's so important to register your serial number onto your profile ASAP when you get one.

Only Helpdesk can help you with that issue.

It would be great if N3V would place on the Main Forum Page the following:

Please register your Trainz version upon receipt!!

Also provide simple instructions on the registration process.

Make the above notice permanent.... with Trainz advertisements following that.

Not everyone knows what to do when they receive the boxed or DL'ed version.

Just my thoughts,

I think that's an execellent idea.

please help i lost my serial key in moving and i need to acess my trainz:'(

Where did you acquire your Trainz from? If it's a boxed version the cd key is on the back of the manual. If you purchased it online from auran then the cd key is located in your receipt or in your purchase order.

When I purchase a disc, whatever it may be, I always write the UN & PW along with the serial number key, and my e-mail address on a piece of masking tape on the box, or directly on the disc back (if the box is lost).

Exactly what I do. I print it out in big bold print and use clear tape to protect it. When I got TS12AE the FIRST thing I did was register it BEFORE installing it. I agree this should be a sticky in EVERY Trainz forum section. We see this missing serial number thing way too many times. Some are legit, some have downloaded it from various sources and are just trying to scam a way around buying it.

Oh look, another one. These serial numbers should really have their wings clipped as they keep on floating away! :p

Yeah I would say choosing a name like Trickyboy11 for his self, is not exactly endearing his self to anyone, I mean it's hardly shouting out sweet and Innocent, is it?............ He did his self no favours there!

But who are we to judge. He may turn out to be a real asset to the community.
If he gets the benefit of the doubt, and knowing the trainz community like I do, any wrong doing will soon be found out and stamped on.

If its A boxed version as far as I know you cannot install it without a serial code so you may have to buy a new one.

Oh I wasn't pointing any fingers. Just saying that these posts seem to pop up frequently after a new release of Trainz. There is another one on the TS12 section saying someone can't understand why he got the message that his trial version stopped working and how to make it work again. Of course, the answer is buy a regular version. But they don't want to hear that.:D

Please....let this thread fade away...

Zec has posted here and is aware of the issue.

We do not know the circumstances of the OP and we should not make comments that may not be factual.

That said, let this thread just go away into oblivion.

What trial version?
I thought there was NO trial or demo versions available?

There definitely was. I had one. When the trial time expired it posted a note on the screen that the trial/demo period had expired. Using the demo was what convincem e to buy the full TS2012AE version. I got the demo from a buddy of mine and no idea where he got it. :)

Regards,

Nobody made any direct accusations at anyone. Just curious, but did someone appoint you the thread killer of Trainz Forums? This is the second time you've posted a request to close a thread. If this thread has run it's course it will end on it's own.
