Well, since you asked, you have a spelling mistake.:D

It's supposed to be 'Northern', not 'Northren.':p

Cheers,

Matt.

@Norfolksouthern,

I saw that, but ignored it, just in case my brain fried trying to work it's way around that one!:eek:

It is a nice sig, though, and in all honesty, I probably wouldn't have noticed the spelling mistake if you hadn't brought to my attention the fact that you had a new signature.

Matt.

Very nice - and your setting a good example by keeping it under the required size as per the COC.

Being a malcontent I am anti the 800 X 100 ruling but I insist that N3V police it as its just plan silly to make a ruling and then not enforce it. If your not going to enforce a rule get rid of it I say, well thats my theory and soap box. :hehe: :D

Dave, they do enforce it, but leniently. If your sig is 105 Pixels, or 30.8kb, they will let you off. If its 800 x 300 then yeah, they'll make you change it

Looks good BTW Masterowner, I didnt notoce da mesteke

What's the conch shell for? :)

You can use it to summon fellow survivors when you are stranded on an island after a plane crash. It can also be used as a symbol of democracy in that situation. If you ever the get the opportunity, I recommend not reading Lord of the Flies by William Golding, though many would disagree with me. :)

Whilst we are on the topic of banner size, it's great to see that most are willing if not happy to comply with the rules. It would be much appreciated if owners of offending banners could update their image to conform as not doing so results in ill feeling from many of our valued members for various reasons. Further, it reduces our Helpdesk's ability to promptly answer queries if we must repeatedly remind certain members of these guidelines.

Thanks for your understanding.

It's gratifying to read your response, Rob, but are you encouraging members to NOT read the book? Is that a typo, or do you feel the book has no value? Please clarify, as I am easily confused!

Oh don't mind me, Ed, simply I have a sense of humour as cynical as, well some other members. :hehe:

Of course I appreciate the book for the classic it is.

Thanks Rob, based on your advice should I ever have the opportunity to not read the book, I won't. Or something...:o

For those that don't enjoy not reading a book, there is also a video that you could not watch as well.

Way on the other side to you on this one and disagree with you about letting a person off with a 105X802 or the like banner. Take it from someone who works in an enforcement role, when its so easy to make a 800X100 sig and also test and mesure what is a 800X100 sig that should be the clear line in the sand.

As has been seen on these fourms before, if you start letting 805X105 sigs go it then become the norm and then we see 815X115 sigs and then 825X125 and before you know it all the sigs are 900X200.

And yes this is using the past history of the fourms over the last 10 years, been here from almost day one, as the guide to what happens.

Many a finger was burnt in the flood and flame wars. Have a line and enforce it.

I'll throw in with Bearcat on this; there's no reason to state rules and then not enforce them, and there's no reason to allow incremental abuse of the rules.

Unless, of course, you are the one breaking the rules.:hehe:

If you allow your rules to be abused by increments, you may as well not have the rules at all. When that time comes here, I'll make a sig banner of 1600 X 1200 pixels, at as high of a size as possible, and I'll post in every thread until the entire forum grinds to a halt. I suspect I won't be alone.:D

Ed, as a collector of your work I'm sure your 1600x1200 banner would be very entertaining. :hehe:

Seriously though, we are listening.

Hello Ed (Euphod)

I hear your complaints about signature violations loud and clear. I know that you find that annoying as well as others. I know you perceive that I ignore them or give favoritism to others. Nothing could be further from the truth.

I can't change their sigs, so what do you think I should do if I ask them not to do that? Remove their posts or ban them?

Is that really what you want me to do? I wouldn't think so.

I am open to any constructive suggestions you have. :)

Cheers

AJ
