My First Try at a Model

This is my very first attempt at creating a 3d model in Sketchup... I'm going for an S2 or S4 look.. I know there are MANY flaws within this, but considering I've only been working on it for a few minutes, its pretty good.

It's a great start compared to the boxes that I end up with! :D :p
I'm not even sure if my Gmax is working right. :)

Looks great for a first try!

All the content creators started some were. That looks way better than my first creation. (was thrown out a couple years ago) Didn't know I could screw up a box so bad.:D It's not a bad start. Just keep at it.

You will have fun getting it from sketchup to trainz though I have played with sketchup and when you get it into gmax the polys will be high and none of the vertices are welded your getting the hang of 3d why not stop now and restart in Gmax as you have a long frustrating way to go but yes we all started somewhere good start :D

Well, heres my first try in Gmax, going for a kinda SD-40 look...

Great work MuttsMooch!

I have to warn you and others about this though: even though SketchUp is far easier than Gmax because of the ability to draw objects almost endlessly from a single base, it's best that work be done in Gmax, it will save a lot of exporting trouble in the long run.

And will help keep the poly's down too...

Cheers,
John
