(My Content) RR XING And Traffic Light Screenz

I have finally sufficiently learned GMAX modelling. I have created my first asset and have successfully got it in Surveyor. More to come!

Traffic Light Pole - Optimal for much of Florida and parts of other states, Optimal to combine with boat's lights in a free hanging form

Features sufficient detail and sufficient poly!

The FDOT is upgrading a traffic signal at SW 72nd and US1. They are also adding cantilevers to the nearby grade crossing.

This features my new Lincoln Industries cantilever. When creating this I had no knowledge that Trainz would "like the origin". If you DL this asset, you will have trouble rotating, unless I issue a KUID2 update.

Oh wait, either my signal or BNSF50's is out of proportion. I'll fix any height issues.

What your doing is good, can never have to many crossings.
Cantilever height 14' 6" to 17' min. from crown of road to lowest part of cantilever, or light if its hanging below structure. Mine are at 15' 3 1/2", which is min. overpass height in California.

Looks like your texture is a little on the dark side. These things are built out of aluminum. Unless that's the way they look in Florida. Just don't get it to light either or it will look washed out in trainz lighting.

You mentioned floating crossing lights in your other thread. I'm afraid I don't know how to do that with my light scripting setup. Maybe Boat can help you there.

Thanks for the plug. I found much of the measurements on the Lincoln Industries website except for the clearance, which I improvised based on the "carz".

I am currently revising it with new specs, including a 10" diameter of the pole. I'll keep in mind a 15' clearance.

The texture came directly from a picture, but I think that was with poor lighting. I have a Harmon Cantilever texture, which I'll input in the new version.

You may notice easily how I am missing a ladder, that is a very very complex asset to make, lots of cylinders! That can be expected separately, because there will be five cantilever setups.

All in all I must thank chuffbuff, narrowgauge, and martinvk. They were the ones which directed every step of the processes.

Awesome traffic signals (US) all! I'm looking forward to incorporating this into my GLC route I started.

Thanks!

:)

WOW!!!!!!

AWESOME!

Now I can really get going with the "CSX Clearwater Sub" I just have to get special sidewalks now for the local streetscape

Are they released? Or can you give a specified date? I only need the traffic light masts :)

Thanks Isaac!

I do have plans to release them next week.

:hehe:

Anyway, I have just retextured the traffic light pole and modelled a short pole. I will replace every asset with the new long pole and release both poles.
Sweet can't wait!:) I got plenty of uses. Also would it be possible for you to add traffic lights to it? They wouldn't have to light up or anything, just to give the feel of them installing a new light system which they havn't implemented yet...

Download BOAT's ATLS lights(not the maddy25 ones), as they have a "floating" option, which gets rid of the post, so you can place them against the mast.

Lincoln Industries Railroad Crossing Cantilever V2 (does not come with a ladder, I'll include that with my second run of crossing cantilevers

Traffic Light - Long Pole Retextured (Miami / Tampa Metro)

Traffic Light - Short Pole (Miami / Tampa Metro) (disregard the second asset on the list, that was a transparent texture and was deleted)

To be uploaded tomorrow evening.

Now I may start Safetran lights. I'll ask for any assistance on animating them. I'm just building the casings, disks, and visors.

I don't mean to set anyone off here, but are these by anychance released now? They were supposed to be uploaded the 16th. Are they in a queue? Its understandable if thats the case.

That was the case... until I got the failure notice.

I will fix the thumbnail to be a jpg. I think that's what should be done. It was a tga.

Just a question. Do you think you'll be doing different types of traffic poles?

It depends, I will do those that suit my needs. Maybe I'll reskin a version for dark green when I get to West Palm on my FEC route. I do aspire to do the standard lights though in both horizontal and vertical forms for configuration to ATLS, I'll ask for help for the lights though.
