Music For Gaming

Dont know if anyone else does this, but while I game I like a little inspirational music behind the scenes while I play. When Im battling in
my WWII games,I have a WWII playlist with themes from alot of the
popular movies that I play.

Of course for "Trainz" it required something a little different, and it depends
on the era Im running. Now for my 1900's steam era, I found this really good
"Bluegrass" station,(I play it through the internet since it wasnt on Windows Media). Lots of songs about "Trains" in this stuff and it fits.

Heres the link for anyone that likes.http://radiotime.com/WebTuner.aspx?StationId=103851&

If that works for you thats great, but Ive found most in-game music annoying
and very unsatisfying. I like messing around with a few editions of 18 Wheels Of Steel, but I found the music horrible. Im a "Rocker" by heart, but whats a
truckin game without some "East Bound And Down",so I'd just tune into
our local country station and have actual radio while haulin.

Kind of funny,I never thought I'd ever listen to other music like that. But
its kind of neat getting a diverse music exposure and enjoying it. Well, just
as long as its not rap Im ok with it.

I remember the day (early 90's) when someone got me to listen to an old Frank Sinatra record when my defenses were down. I mark that day as the day that I started getting old.

Surely the point of running a train sim is to listen to the loco thrash and associated track sounds?!

For route building it's normally prog/power rock/metal as inspiration though.

LoL,...I was afraid somebody would say that. Then I see guys like
"Angus Young" and go,Uh-oh.

In the case of the record I mentioned, "Metal On Metal" by Kraftwerk I happened to be playing and by pure chance also running the RENFE Confederacion. It synchronised beautifully with the coupling rods especially if I zoomed in on the pistons.
