Multiple Industry New

I was trying this out for the first time and have read the tutorial. I set it up to consume coal so that I could empty some waggons.
However though the waggons empty and the commodity levels rise the level does not fall off over time so that I can empty in more waggons. It gets to the stage where the Industry can take no more.

Here is how I set it up.

Queue1 1000000
Coal
Tonnes 1 tonnes (1000 units)

Tracks
Coal Mode Unload from vehicle
Queue queue1

Processes
Duration 1
Coal
Consume 1000 tonnes ( 1162790 units)
Queue queue1

Products
Coal Vehicle ---
Load Size 53 Tonnes ( 60500 units)
Tonnes

The waggon I am using is NSWGR NOD loaded
Coal 60500

Looking at View details at start of operation

able to operate
Commodity Levels
Coal 1 X --- (1 tonnes)

After Emptied three waggons into the Industry

Commodity Levels
Coal 4 X --- ( 157 tonnes)

Now comes the crunch even after 6 minutes there is no change in the Commodity level. The total does not reduce to leave room for the next coal consist. I realise these settings are not typical but I wanted it cleared out quickly.

What am I doing wrong? I thought it was set to consume 1000 tonnes in one minute. ( Processes setting)

Thanks for any help.

Hi,

Very quickly by looking at your numbers, you do not have enough coal for the M.I.N to consume.

Processes
Duration 1
Coal
Consume 1000 tonnes ( 1162790 units)
Queue queue1

After Emptied three waggons into the Industry

Commodity Levels
Coal 4 X --- ( 157 tonnes)

You see where you have gone wrong? After 3 wagons have unloaded you only have 157 tonnes but the M.I.N is trying to consume 1000 tonnes. This can be a problem if you have used different measurements in the setup, go back through the setup and change all the "units/items/tonnes" to the same. This is the reason why I use "items" on all tabs in the setup, no confusion then.

Also, you have set the M.I.N to consume every second by the "duration: 1" setting, I would put this back to 30.

Let me know if you need more help... :)

Thanks for your reply. I thought I had everything in tonnes. I set it to consume 1000 tonnes and 1 sec to see if it would clear out the industry and run it to empty very quickly. Do I take it that as 157 tonnes is not above the consume amount, it will not start to consume? I should unload my whole consist and as soon as I get up to 1000 tonnes it will start to consume and go down to zero?

I will try again This time I will set consumption to 200 tonnes in 30 sec and unload the full 10 waggons ( 530 tonnes )

Hi
That was good advice. It does consume:D
I suppose in my haste to experiment I set unrealistic figures and did not empty enough into the MIN.

One thing I notice when I mouse over the input boxes I get !! this description needs setting !! Have I missed something else?
