Multi Industry New . . . ON STRIKE ??

OK - Firstly, I'm still on 2009 Beta. There is a chance that this is something already fixed with the Gold Edition . . . and the 2009 SP1 that just got released. Unless its something that I'm doing wrong.

I'm still waiting for my DVD boxed edition :'(

This was working in 2006 with the same rolling stocks.

Symptom :

I come to a stop on the MIN track, the loco control HUD disappears . . . then never comes back! Then I noticed the "little red button" on the bottom right of the screen (shows up when a script error occurs). When I click on it . . . a dialog opens up with this :

MultipleIndustryNew : Thread Exception: ER_NullReference, line 225, file multipleindustrynew.gs (2)

I see a button that says "More". When I click on that . . . this shows up :

Thread Exception: ER_NullReference, line 225, file multipleindustrynew.gs

Stack dump:

function $void@MultipleIndustryNew::PerformStoppedLoad(Vehicle,string), line-1
Function $void@BaseIndustry::PerformStopped(Vehiclestring), line 443

The rolling stocks I'm using are carrying loads/commodities that I made. They work fine and shows no errors in CMP2.

I edited the "config.txt" for each rolling stock and added my product kuid # to the already existing load kuids. Numbered them in order after the existing ones.

I also added the same new kuids to the "kuid table". These are the only changes I made to the rolling stock.

These are the modern "bx" reefers that was designed to be used with my "grocery distribution centers"

I haven't tried other unmodified rolling stocks but since many hours were spent modifying the vhicles . . . I really want to use them.

Can ANYONE make heads or tails about what these somewhat cryptic error messages mean ???

Any suggestions of what I can do to get them to work again ??
. . . other than a new labor contract !

I'd appreciate any help.

Thanks

UPDATE:

Very very strange . . .

The identical MIN right next door WORKS using the identical rolling stock and commodities !! But, just 1 queue, 1 product . . . which got me thinking.

Since 1 seems broken . . . I expected all of them to not work. The other thing is . . . this used to be part of a much larger route. I had to break them up because I was above the 2GB limit for a route when the normal "save" function quits working. The identical MIN placed on the others part/piece of this route . . . works.

When nothing seemed to fix it, I removed the MIN that was not working. Replaced it with the same exact MIN. First tested it using 1 product in 1 queue . . . it works. 2 product in 2 queues . . . also works.

I'm suspecting that total number of Queues/products being assigned is the problem. The MIN I removed had 6 queues with 1 product in each.

I won't be using all the available queues again, nor load up 1 queue with many products.

BUT . . . THE ONLY WAY I was able to "RESET" the MIN was to remove it from the route and replace it with a newly placed, same identical MIN. Just removing ALL the assigned products from ALL the queues didn't do the trick . . . at least on my computer.

If you're having similar problem, try replacing the MIN and keep the number queues to 2 or 3 and reduce the kinds of product in each queue . . . try 2 or 3 max. I'm sure the result will differ, depending on your computer.

I'm sure I'll have another Labor Union going on strike again . . . :hehe:

I still would like to know what all that error messages really mean . . .

Ya I have seen that happen on 2006 and at least 2009 tells ya whats wrong I assume which made little sense but replacing the industry or portal always worked for me.......also I gave up using MIN due to the assignment of cars
and use LARS now which once in a while will do same cause of a glitch of a load or car etc.......and for other commodities that LARS dont cover I found editing one of the BI 1 ind worked fine for adding the commodities not covered and also found with MIN and LARS its safer to keep them restricted to lower load availabilities using or reconfig for personal use to each industry....

Dave =)

I use the MIN exclusively on my layouts, its builtin and does everything I need.

also I gave up using MIN due to the assignment of cars
Not sure what you mean here, yes you have to assign a car/wagon when you are setting up the Products tab, but that does not mean only that one car/wagon will load and/or unload at the MIN. The MIN will load and/or unload all wagons that can carry the Product that you are producing/consuming on the Tracks tab.

Thread Exception: ER_NullReference, line 225, file multipleindustrynew.gs

Stack dump:

function $void@MultipleIndustryNew::PerformStoppedLoad(Vehi cle,string), line-1
Function $void@BaseIndustry::PerformStopped(Vehiclestring), line 443

Take a guess and say that something is not setup correctly, going by this, PerformStoppedLoad and PerformStopped are the areas to look at, the MIN is falling over while doing the loading, is the wagon setup correctly and is the MIN setup correctly?

I love the MIN, but yes, it does have its idiosyncracies. It seems to have a hidden memory that can't be totally erased. The only way out is to delete the MIN, insert another, and program it from scratch.
