Mu Operation - Optimisation of Traction

After reading a thread concerning startup and shutdown of locomotives I would like to raise a question that I have been wondering about the optimisation of diesel traction when diesel locomotives in MU operation.
There is a system in use in South Africa called the 'slimkabel' in afrikaans, which means 'clever cable'.
The system basically consists of a fixed or portable MU control box in the leading cab and modified MU cables fitted between all the locos in that consist. The driver can place any one or more of the locos in that consist in idle to save fuel etc. as track and load conditions change. A screen on the MU box shows coloured LED lights that burn to show the driver the state of all the locos in the consist at all times.
I think it would be cool to have such an option in our trainz game , and my question is ( to creators or anyone interested ) whether it could be possible to implement such a system in trainz that operates in Cab and AI mode.

PS : Perhaps for electric locos as well ?

I'm not a content creator or programmer, but I'm sure something could be done with some animated graphics and a script or two, or three. :)

Yep John, I don't create or program at this stage either.
I would love to be able to have such fun and I think it would be very interesting to add such a feature to the existing ways of train control .

Another feature used on diesels is a hump control rheostat that enabled pullaway from below notch one with heavy loads , inclement weather ,heavy gradients and constant speeds when unloading or loading cars at industries.
Some diesels turned into a GT when it is put in notch 8 with the hump control 'down' and whipping it 'up' when the revs are up :D
