Moving to new Computer

Hey, I got a new computer and I moved my old computer downstairs, I wish to play TRS 06 on both computers. But I went to try to use CMP on my new computer but when I am in Download Station trying to download some rolling stock, and when I click on download using helper and a box pops up saying Unable to register Trainz URL registry Key. If you click OK this pops up two more times. It will let me sign in on CMP but it wont keep it saved in, everytime I open CMP I have to enter it again. How do I fix this? Mike

Me too!

I also have a new comp. with vista and trs 2004. I get the reg. error and i can download but when i look, the downloads are in the content manager area and now what? never had a prob with old comp....??let me know if you hear why.

When you bought TRS2006 it is a single license which means you can only register it to one computer at a time, hence, you can't download to the second computer.

If you mean you have both TRS2004 and TRS2006 then all downloads will normally go to CMP for TRS2006. You can download to TRS2004 if you use explorer to open the file ..\Auran\TRS2004\Bin\TrainzHelper.exe and set the path to TRS2004s location and save. Now all downloads will go to TRS2004, until you run TRS2006 again. If you plan to do a lot of switching between TRS2004 & 2006, put a short cut to the TrainzHelper.exe on your desktop.

That's not my experience. I have Trainz 2006 (the one copy) and CMP running on two computers without any problems. I use the copy on my older slower computer as a test bed for checking frame rates, loading times, etc while the development work (and play) is done on my newer faster computer.

Both copies can download from the DLS via CMP without any problems.

Same experience here.... Installed on 2 computers, but you have to be sure the username and pasword is the same in cmp at both pc's

Hi Mike,

I assume your new computer is running Microsoft Vista. You need to run the program as Administrator to avoid this prompt. You might want to research some the threads on this as there are plenty of them in th forum.
