More smoke...

Is there a way, I assume by config.txt editing that a loco can create more smoke, for example if I wanted a really dirty, not environmentally friendly engine for whatever reason....

Hi, have a look at the content creators guide for your version of trainz. You are right, smoke, steam and spray can be changed via the smoke/stack containters in config.txt. Also fun can be had with Twinkles - some content use this. hope this helps...

Trainz is currently environmentally friendly.. However what about addding to the trainz experiance - the smell of oil and smoke; which could be achieved by overclocking your graphics card....:udrool:

yep.

sploof! those nvidia tweeker apps. but, i must do say that a really enpufferated steam exhaust in a winter's landscape would very much be like the real thing. and, i've seen a few black smokey locomotives too. the last one was a diesel on the C&NW in '72... smoked up evanston in a way it hadn't seen since probably 1915.
