Modelling for the Future (1961)

Trainzing since 12-2003
In 1961 engineers were already planning the Chunnel. Here they used a OO model railway to show the action of the trains to and from France and the automobile carrying capability. The cars are electric and can move on their own like race cars did (or do today). Really neat and boy this would have been a fun job to have. :) I wonder if any of these guys are alive today since this took place 51 years ago - when I was born. :)

The stock appears to be mainly Triang with some Hornby Acho SNCF stock. The cars are Minic Motorway items that were produced by Triang in the 1960s; basically a scaled down version of their Scalextric system.

That's awesome, John.

These were classic companies in their day. My cousins had some Triang stuff back in the 1960s. They gave me some old Athearn models, but they kept that. :)
