Try and stay away from Bachamann, their stuff is really of bad Chinese quality.

Might try weathering my Broadway Limited Union Pacifc DCC SD40-2. I am balasting me and my dad's 8 and a half foot long 8 junction switching layout. like 30% done. I will post shots soon.

Meh, what's so bad about bachmann? there steam engines are the best...and when you model N-scale, you don't get much of a choice anyways. Bachmann's got the most variety, and gives you the ability to create plausible rosters.

anyway, people need to stop buying so many Kato, atlas, Proto2000, and the like engines, it goes to their head.:hehe: :o

Well, if it is made in China, then is is just criminally plain bad. :n: Buy American-made and support American jobs! ;)

I'm working on detailing a CNW GP50, and I'll post shots just as soon as I finish it/find the data chord for my phone.

Warning: large images

Here is an ON30 2-6-0 rebuilt by me:

And here are some weathered models. The Conrail caboose still needs its trucks swapped and some windows blanked to be finished. It could also stand a better quality photo.

Simulatortrain, all of those look awesome, but how did you do the graffiti on the GATX tank car?

on another note, I'm hoping to go to my semi-local hobby shop and buy a cheap 2-8-0 and a cheap 2-8-2/0-8-2, the only way for the 0-8-2 is if somebody lost the front truck. But, anyways, I've been wanting to make an articulated train for a while, and with my recent spurt of attempting to get something on ebay ( which led into me getting $40) I now have enough money to actually get a couple cheap trains!

I used a very fine marker and wrote it on the car. The first marker I used was supposed to be permanent but rubbed off even after a spray of Dullcote, so I tried another which has held up fine.

Update: Finished weathering my NW & NS Bowser 100 ton hoppers with AIM products. I also did a 60ft UP reefer (UPFE). Me &dad are working on our SVL doddlebug & a Santa Fe Specturm hevyweight obversation & relettering it to SVL. Also my club (R.I.T. Model RR) is planning on building a new layout soon. Stay tunded for pics & updates!

Majority of my locomotives that can run are made by Bachmann. Even a Santa Fe F7 that came in the first train set I bought still runs. I bought in back around '96 or '97.

Bachmann is hit or miss. I have a handfull of locomotives by them, and they run all right. My brass and Athrun locos run a little better.

Speeking of Bachmann, just started work on a N scale 2-8-0 that I am going to add DCC too and weather. Been on and off working on a TSBY RS3 #466.
