It's far beyond age, years of experience with TrainzRailroad Simulator.
You must know...
Power requirements, knowing how much power to supply, for the task given.
How long it takes to make an brake application, before you can de-couple.
Signals, and what your facing, for the particular road signals given.
Tonnage, and what to do, and when, to keep the train in check, for the terrain your facing.
Where your at, all the time, and what signals, trains, and stop-offs you have to make.
Knowing at all times, if you make a mistake, you will end the session.
Keeping focus, at all times of all of this.
Railroads, hire you on, and whether you get to a train simulator, or not, your given a conductor, that will gauge over movement you make, to the progress of the train, and add to you...your gonna get commands, you don't understand.
You will allow, for crossing protection, prevent fast couples, watch all switches.
You will accept, other participants, employees, dispatchers, etc. for there directions.
You agree to work the route, as given.
You will work, regardless of the horrible weather, unacceptable waiting, etc.
If you wish to run a locomotive...?
You will accept any and all jobs...Railroads, start you on yard jobs, with a switcher engine. There, you learn the physics needed, to move cars, judge distance, reduce movement to what is necessary to get the job done.
Your performance, is noted amongst your peers...you will be recognized, by what you get done quickly, and what you prevent.
Your mistakes, will end the session.
NEVER run a route, until you use an AI Driver, to get from point to point, until you can run the route given...this is called "Certified" on that route....only!
You must admit, that if your not Certified on that route, and stop your movement, hoping your opposing signals, protect you...
Let's talk....
