Missing freight cars, turntable, etc.

Greetings -

I'm fairly new to Trainz2010 and have spent the last 2 days pouring through forums and simply trying to get Trainz running. After many hours of troubleshooting and heartache, the program runs .. somewhat. But, there are a lot of things still missing. I'd be very grateful if somebody can offer advise. (Sorry in advance if this has been answered before -- I've been searching for many hours without luck.) For example:

* Avery to Drexel. We only have 1 LittleJoe and 3 SD40-2s. All other cars are missing.
* Avery to Drexel. The Avery turntable is missing. (Can't fulfill the 'mission' since there is no way to turn around the LittleJoe.)
* Main Menu -> Railyard. Many cars and engines are listed, but very few are actually displayed when highlighted.

Note that these are not custom routes that I have downloaded. I'm simply trying to use the existing routes.

Here is what I've done so far:
* Complete uninstall of Trianz2010. (Removed w/ Add/Remove programs, then removed entire Auran folder.)
* Reinstall of Trainz2010 SP2 (build 42203).
* Updated to SP3 (build 44088). (Download patch, clear temp folders, turn off antivirus, let patch run overnight.)
* Reinstalled ActiveX 9 to ensure highest version.
* checked all driver versions. Updated Video driver (ATI Radeion HD 4850) (This helped -- before the video driver update, many scenery items were missing. The track was simply a grid -- no trains.)
* From content manager, ran 'extended database repair' many times.

My PC Specs:
* Windows XP Pro 32bit running via 'Boot Camp' on 27" iMac. 3+ GB of usable RAM. (More RAM installed, but not addressable since XP is only 32bit.) All OS patches applied and all drivers fully updated. Using ActiveX.

Performance is generally snappy -- I'm just missing a lot of 'assets'. (Not sure the term 'assets' applies to things like turntables.)

Thanks in advance for any help that can be provided. I'm happy to read documentation -- if I could simply find some. The answer may be buried somewhere deep in the forums -- I apparently can't figure out terms to search for.:'(

Are the cars etc. displayed in the listings in red? - If so they are faulty assets (you can check this by going into Content Manager and selecting the "Faulty" Tab).

Extended Database Repair(s) should have fixed them (provided you let the EDR run for a good while to complete) but.... other methods are:

Right click the faulty asset in CM, select "View Errors and Warnings", then close that window.

Or - Right click the faulty asset in CM, select "Edit" > "Open for Edit", right click again and then select "Edit" > "Revert to Original".

A good way of searching the forum is to use Google! Type in "Trainz Forum your search words". You should get the top few hits and an option to view more results.

In 'Railyard', all car names are displayed white. (Yellow when highlighted. But, none are Red. ) However, when trying to add cars in 'Surveyor', most names are red and there is no available preview.

I picked an asset, and found it in CM. It was listed as faulty. I viewed 'Errors and Warnings' and saw complaints of missing .texture.txt files.

I was able to 'Open for Edit', but then could not 'Revert to Original'. That menu option was grey'd out. I could only 'Revert' -- which seemed to do nothing.

Any advice on the next step? Do I just keep running EDR? (I've ran it 3 times .. and it said 'complete'.)

to find the missing cars in surveyor, in railyard click on the blank circle beside the name. It will turn green. the object will then show in surveyor.

Have you just got the basic TS2010 install (i.e. no downloaded assets) ?? - if so I'm surprised that "Revert to Original" was not available.

P.S. I would suggest you register your copy of TS2010, not that this will solve the problem, but it will give you access to the DLS, Helpdesk etc.

Correct. I have just the basic TS2010 install. No downloaded assets. I'm just trying to get the base install working for the first time since updating to SP3.

re: register. I'm actually helping my father. I didn't post from his account because he used his entire real name as username. :/ I'm surprised he didn't include his SSN as well.
