Missing dependencies / Extended Database Repair not repairing

Hi

I have been developing a large model and as a habit, I frequently create a new file after changes in case anything happens to my surveyor file. I've just discovered that I have a pile of surveyor and session files showing missing dependencies although I've not noticed anything amiss when my model is running (apart from the usual cantankerous AI drivers !).

I have played around deleting and reloading the offending asset and its own dependencies (84912:1200) but repeated EDR's report 32 errors, 0 warnings without actually doing anything to repair it.

The 32 errors are all my own files - "Asset <kuid 501622:1009xx> does not match the asset database record"

I will obviously just delete the old files but how can I get rid of the missing dependency status to give myself a clean copy before going further?

The error you refer to is not actually an error - it is what the repair process has fixed.

Concentrate on the missing dependencies, which seem to have come about by the route changing KUID (which is usually what happens when Save As is used).

Thanks for that Shane but I've already spent most of this morning trying to delete the asset and it's own dependencies then EDR then downloading afresh then EDR etc again but have just got completely stuck with it. (I did originally have 4 other missing dependencies but they were fixed straight off - this one just won't budge.

Sounds like not a good idea to "save as"

Shane -

In the absence of any further advice I took the option of deleting all faulty assets and as I expected lost other stuff including scattered sections of track. I now have no missing dependencies and seem to have repaired all except that certain aircraft (not all) have lost their paint schemes to a chequered black & white covering. I have tried deleting the ones affected and reloading them. Theyt show their colours in CM but not when loaded.

I know that some show as black & white in CM but the ones I am talking about were OK before I deleted faulty assets but now they're not and won't reload in their paint scheme.

As a major source of info on here I wondered if you could give me any pointers.

Sorry but you'll have to explain how to do that.....

On resuming running, the colours are B&W large rectangular areas which then quickly change to small irregularly spaced b&W rectangles. The shape of the aircraft is solid and correct. Possibly relevent - those aircraft with full paint schemes will sometimes show as a blurred or out of focus image before quickly changing to a clear image. I've had a look on CM and cannot find an example of any aircraft with the B&W image so maybe I have just remembered that a lot of aircraft I have tried to load to my route haven't loaded properly. I do remember that a lot of aircraft I've downloaded in the past show faulty or missing dependencies which I have then deleted.

I have built up my layout using just those aircraft I have been able to download properly but the problem is that now some of those have now gone black & white.

After an EDR Content Manager often throws up assets that show as faulty but in fact are OK. To get rid of the false errors use the search criteria local and faulty. Depending on how many there are either select all, or if there is a lot of them select a few of them. Then right click on the selected items and choose view errors and warnings. This will often report that there are no erros or warnings and the assets will show as clear of errors. If they are built-in and still show up as faulty, try using edit - revert to original if it is an option. I have found this usually clears all faulty assets except those that were faulty before the EDR and have not got round to repairing.

Shane - Don't have a website. Have tried to screenprint to paint but don't think it will do because image attach on here needs a URL? To try and describe further, aircraft shape is solid and correct with detail etc. It is just that the paint scheme is this patchwork black and white. Detail such as the pilots cockpit windows are shown but not the doors or cabin windows down the side. Even the navigation lights are working. The plane operates as normal.

dnevans8 - thanks for that but have already established that no faulty or m issing assets. Have just checked again faulty=true and location = local and nothing showing.

Thanks Shane but I really don't want to get into all that - probably very simple to you. I can't be the only one who's had this problem - will post under a more appropriate heading in the Surveyor forum.

Thanks again
Bob
