minor 2009 questions.

Overall I am happy with 2009, most of the problems I encountered had more to do with my computer set up, modifications to same fixed the problems, but some remained.

Most of these were fixed by scanning the forums,

In 2006, I could drag and drop my favorite textures to an area below the main texture box, this does not seem to be present in 2009, an oversite or an added feature.

Some objects have error messages telling me that the texture is not a power of 2, I am not an object creator, and have absolutely no idea of what that means, can someone enlighten me.?

Cheers, Alex

Most textures are of an even size (height and width) and divisible by 2.
ie: 2, 4, 16, 32, 64, 128 etc..

The texture most likely has an odd number height or witdth

Cheers

A power of 2 means that the texture must be of the following dimensions:

1x1, 2x2, 4x4, 8x8, 16x16, 32x32, 64x64, 128x128, 256x256, 512x512, 1024x1024, 2056x2056, 4112x4112 and so on....

or mixed, e.g.

32x256, 512x1024...

Perhaps when Windows 7 comes out it will have a good calculator for us to use. This could be its main feature, perhaps always there on the desktop, like a ghost, watching you, maybe in the shape of something interesting, like a face, and fully customizable.

Greetings Alex,

Something in ts2009 which works a biit similar to your 'favorite textures' is the pick list. You can drap items to it in CM2 or Surveyor and have easy access to the textures this way, as well as any other assest you use frequently.

To find it, I believe the shortcut is ctrl-shift-f, or click the 'Y' looking icon near the menu in surveyor.

Hope this helps,
Lenny

Thanks Lenny,

Will give it a go in a couple of days when I get back home, sounds like the feature is still there, but hidden away so no-one will find it.

Alex.
