I posted several complaints earlier today (#4) to the old thread: Videos and Screenshots of The Metro Fictional Route (Hi Res). But I see now that layout metro v 2010 d-2 has disappeared from the DLS!

I have thus downloaded:

and took a test ride on the tram line that runs near the airport on my Trainz12 system. So far it looks like it has the same missing track problem at the point where the tram line runs underneath the Yellow Line at Air Park station. I'll post more on this later after I have done more exploring!

If you are interested in Heavy Rail (Federal Transit Admin definition), I suggest you look at:

It works nicely on my Trainz 12 system, and has a rather nice representation of Chicago's Lake Street Elevated as it was in the 1960's, as well as the Elevated Loop that encircles downtown Chicago. Other parts of the system are frankly 'flights of fancy'. I run a train of:

Description:
Fictional Chicago Transit Authority reskin of the ProTrainz NYCTA Low-V Subway car. Second set with trolley poles. Run with back pole up under wires, both poles down on third rail tracks. Original ProTrainz description and license follows.

Called 'Low-V' because of their use of safer low voltage control system (as opposed to the earlier 'Hi-V' equipment), these cars were first built in 1915 as special 'Steinway' 2 motor units designed to handle the 4% grade of the Steinway tunnel between Manhattan and Queens.
The first actual 'Low-V' motor cars arrived in 1916, with additional orders in 1917, 1924 and 1925. The original 12 Steinway motors were build by the Pressed Steel Car Company, additional Low-V's were built by Pullman and ACF ('24 - '25). There were also Low-V trailer units, which were mixed with the motors to reduce weight on the old lattice elevated structures in Manhattan and the Bronx.

on the Elevated system tracks with great success. I also run a four car train of CNS&M Greenliners and Silverliners created by landrvr1 on those tracks with equally great success. Midwestern railfans will remember that the Chicago North Shore & Milwaukee Railroad interurbans ran from Milwaukee (with a branch from Mundelein) and entered Chicago on the Elevated System until 1963. Skokie Valley trains entered at Dempster St Skokie (Now the Yellow Line) while Shore Line trains entered at Linden Ave. in Wilmette (Purple Line, then followed the same route as rush hour Purple Line trains to Chicago's Loop.
