how do you cange the max speed on the trains.

Hi tb9665,

The maximum speed of a loco is controled in the loco's engine config file.

The figure is in metres per min. I think though I could be wrong about that bit.

Thanks. This helped alot. In trainz classics, I edited the Metro North M7 to run at 100mph instead of 73mph. That converter for the website above is helpful. It gives trainz classics sort of a realistic feeling, speed wise.

The maxspeed tag in the Motor container of an enginespec only applies to AI and DCC modes. The max speed in CAB mode is controlled in the throttle container of a diesel and is a more involved change to make. Cab mode for a steamer is a totally different animal.
