MARTA Subway Car

Okay since I have had too much trouble with downloading trains......I search the Freeware section on here and saw a good rail car and I downloaded it because it was a zip file.................Now I extracted the files, where do I put the file so it can be in my Rail Yard so I can drive the train?

in 2006 you open CMP, go to File>import files go to the location of the unzipped folder, and install it (click 'OK' or something like that) you then need to click on the "Open for Edit" tab and select the item and hit [ctrl]+[M]
for 2004 or earlier, copy the folder to the world/custom folder

Cool I did that.....I open up the link for the car on my desktop, then, i went to CMP and under file I choose import then i did what you said, yet in my Rail Yard in Trainz I dont see the car

ummm leme take a look I think there was some problem with the linked download. There should be a correct version on the DLS.

Thats the whole point, I cannot access my download station, i can view it, but whenever i try to download anything from it, i goes to the CMP and says unable to Register URL Key

MARTA Subway

What else can I do to make the MARTA train get into my Trainz when I go to Driver in Trainz the car isnt there

Have you tried the "fix" of re-entering your username / password in the Planet Auran profile (even though already there)? This can clear the path to the downloads in CMP.

Did you install it in CMP and commit it? If it's not showing up in Railyard then the asset either has faults or you are missing dependencies for it.

Well this is what I did.....I downloaded the MARTA Subway Car from the site, not in the Download Station....I downloaded it to my desktop, then I extracted the files using winzip, and clicked the file that came from that and it sent me to the CMP.....First message said Unable to Register URL Key, then another thing came up saying that the files are in the CMP, i see them in there, but they dont show a train of MARTA in the Driver mode on Trainz.

That can mean it still needs more parts (dependancies)-it won't show in Railyard if it's incomplete.

Remember that items dont appear in driver until you've put them onto a route in Surveyor (in 2006 that is)

These are the dependencies according to the "old" download station, so you may be missing something?

as suspected my compter is struggling with the Trainz Asset Database update as usual using 100% of my cpu- (I'm writing this on my laptop instead).

It's 2.10 am here and I have to go travelling tomorrow, so may have to leave it running and get to bed.

A few posts back you asked where the link was-if you click the "Download Station" button top of this screen, it "should" open the oldstyle download station. I just put MARTA into the text search and came up with about 4 entries-all from same member. I'm not sure this is the same as you found as a zip though?

ah-it's on trainzluver-I've always found the downloads are ok from there, and it is the same item.
