Just musing.
Kept maritime threads running for years on trainz forum.
However interest now shifted to the earlier period of c1785-1800 and have been building up content made with Blender for a sailing simulator.
However sailing simulators are limited to one water level as regards canals and locks, and trainz has the facility for drivable sailing ships, horse drawn narrowboats and wagons.
I know because I made some of the sailing ships, canals banks, and narrowboats pulled by horses but I never did learn animation in gmax and my horses were a bit stiff in the knees.
However abandoned the maritime idea in trainz but if the 2009 version has enough in it for "world"simulation may continue. Also depends especially on CMP if it will work for commiting content. Nothing to do with connecting to DS.
So have made with Blender the North Wales castles from Flint to Aberystwyth and if the new trainz Blender exporter works ok with 2009 version will use the content.
At present cmp did not work with classics 1/2 but may try 3 and have updated nvidia drivers and will see what happens when its available. Barry
