Map focus problems

So have upgraded TRS2006 to service pack one, and now the map doesn't seem to function properly. When I switch to map view, then RMB on an area of the map which I would like to see, when I exit map view it has again focused on a consist. Nothing I do can seem to make the map lose its focus from the consists (RMB, LMB, etc). This is at odds with both the tutorial and the manual and severely limits the usability of the map.

So I uninstalled completely and reinstalled, and the problem persists. Of course, I seem also to lost everything I had downloaded from the download station and any Surveyor data I had, even though I specified not to delete them.

This is a suboptimal solution. Does anyone have any answer to my map problem, and how I can overcome it?

Thanks.

Gauchely replying to my own post, I managed to get all my content back (CMP/Import. . .) , but the focus problems remain. Unless it's now a "feature" rather than a "bug". I'd look at the patch Readme, but I get a 404 on the Auran website. (well, technically not a 404, but a message saying the database entry can't be found, which is more or less the same thing).

Map Focus function changed by TRS2006 SP1

In the TRS2006 manual, DRIVER section 9.3 states "Click RMB on a point in the map to center the map view to a new location, losing focus on any particular consist." but this is no longer true after installation of SP1 in TRS2006. The focus stays on the last selected conist. You can change focus to a different conist but not to a point in the map.

This wonderful fix  was reputedly at the request of users who became "lost" when going to and from map mode somehow and couldn't find the "1" key to return to their consist. In other words, it's not a 'bug,' it's a 'feature,' and one which makes it much harder to lurk in one location watching trains and checking the map from time to time to see what's approaching. Whether a future SP2 will ever fix this is, of course, unknown...
