Lost road traffic

I also have 2009, and I've noticed that traffic just comes and goes for no reason I've been able to discover. Next time I load the session it's back.

One other possibility; you might have accidentaly turned it off in Surveyor.

Objects pallet (3rd tab down on right) > Spline Mode (2nd button, top) > Toggle Traffic (third button along the bottom of the main pallet)

Also check your region, that it didn't go back to default, which does not generate traffic.

I've also noticed that car generation lags at times in Surveyor. I'll lay down a road and have to wait a while before the cars start spawning. I think the game may putting resources elsewhere causing lag.

Hope this helps.

Delmarg,

Check the "Region" for the route that has no traffic, some regions e.g. "default" don't have traffic - try another region.

Thanks have given it all a go but one I must be a bit Dim with this one but cant think how to get the box up to check if it is on default in the region

Right click on the route in CMP and select Display Config file (I think that's what it's called.) Look in the config file to see your region.

Or in Trainz load the route in surveyor and go - Main Menu > Edit Route> 2nd item down is "Geographical Region" click the little [>] buttons to change.

Hmmm,

I'm on 2010 now so I can't check, didn't think there was that much difference between 2009 fully patched and 2010. Anyway, try this:

  • Open Content Manager ("Content" from the first menu).
  • Click the tab that says "Installed".
  • Find the Route that you are interested in (In the CM search pane click [+] and add "Category" = "Route" to reduce the list).
  • Now right click on the route file and select "View Config File".
  • Look for a line that starts with "region" make a note of the the KUID number and post it here, I'll check it. If it needs changing we'll go through that if you want.
Cheers
