Where have all the Commodity Icons gone...
Long time passing...

Well they don't show up as barrels in surveyor and driver, and I have proof:

For as long as I can remember, way back when I first purchased Trainz 2004/2006 and Ultimate. Most icons were always missing, I just got used to it and really never got too worried about it even now in Tane, TRS19 and TRS22!!

That's always been an issue for as long as I can remember.

I didn't know you were referring to in-game or Content Manager. in CM, they're barrels regardless of the commodities.

It’s not been an issue for me. It’s only recently that I’ve seen the commodity icon be replaced by the trainz logo on some of them
