lost everything in Route

Thanks for reading. I created a route, now when I open the route the only things there are terrain and landscape. All items I placed are gone and all track and roads are gone. However when I open my session, everything is there. How do I get them back to the route..

Open the session in surveyor.
Go to the layers tab (F6).
Select the session.
Click on the "Merge layer" button. That is the button looking like a fork.
Merge it into your route.
Save route; delete session.

As a piece of advise: Don't bother building a session (or saving a session even) until you are completely done with your route (unless you know what you are doing).
