Lost Drivers

Hi Everybody!
I recently installed sp1 for TRS2006 and am generally quite happy with it, BUT..... I seem to have lost all those nice people called Drivers, so I now have no one to run extra trains for me :( . I have also noticed that I never get asked which control method I prefer - it just automatically uses DCC. Is there something simple I'm missing? A friend from my local model railway club has had the same problemand we are both stumped as to how to fix it (short of uninstalling the lot and starting again)
Thanks in advance for any help you can give
Ian

Did you copy the SP1 patch to your harddrive before installing it? Did you install the SP1 patch onto afresh install of TRS2006l that had not been started at all?

Hi,

By the sound of it, you both didn't install SP1 correctly, you are going to have to uninstall then reinstall TRS.

There is no other way, backup your custom content, uninstall TRS completely, now install TRS, install SP1, you may now install your custom content again.

There is a problem when installing SP1 'over-the-top' of custom content.

If you are missing the Drivers then it's a faulty install of either TRS2006 or Service Pack 1.

Have you followed the directions provided in this thread and also this thread?

Just had the same problem installing the game and patch onto my new Vista computer!!! (worked ok without the patch). Found that if I right clicked on the trs2006 desktop icon and selected the "run as adminstrator" option then the game worked fine and all drivers etc were visible!
Might be useful for anybody having the problem when running under Vista.

Cheers,
Kevin

Kevin,

It sounds like you ran TRS and then tried to install the patch. If this is the case it will not have installed correctly as you need to install SP1 before attempting to run TRS.

No, I completely deinstalled 2006 and then reinstalled it. Then applied the patch without running TRS (as per instructions). I've since tried deinstalling/reinstalling it again and still get the same results.

Doesn't seem to be a problem as I've set it to always run "run as administrator" and seems to load and work ok. Will have to see how it goes!
