i had that happen to a train i was. some idiot pulled out in front of us and stopped on the tracks so we stopped really fast. it sent me flying across the car too... dont underestimate how fast trains can stop...

Quick stop! Isn't there a 30 minute restriction on mainline freight if they go into emergency? if so, does it apply there?

You had to be careful riding the caboose, especially in the cupola. The slack slamming in could throw you out of the window onto the roof.

been there, seen that. i was riding in a caboose on a tourist railway when they jolted to a stop to flag a crossing. i dang near fell out of the cupola!!!
