Loco settings in TRS2006

Where are the various settings for loco power, braking, max speed, etc., etc. ? I could find them easily enough in UTC but in TRS2006 I just can't see them. It's irritating to have class 37s breaking from 50 mph in half their length(!) and for the 37s to keep up with the 66s! Is this stuff documented somewhere? Grateful for any pointers!

Engine parameters are in the enginespec kuid identified in the loco's config.txt file. Access it in CMP by right clicking and selecting Edit in Explorer. When you've finished the edit, save and commit.

No config.txt files in \local\... ? There are some config.chump files but they are binary files.

Ah, that'll teach me to read posts properly...editing in Explorer exposed the config.txt files. What's going on here?

Ah there seems to be another folder now, \editing!

Where is all this stuff documented?

Here on the forum. the "Search" button is your best friend. At least its a better friend than me.

That part of TRS is documented in the manual, and a few other places. Search does help here :)

The reason your finding binary files in the 'local' folder is because this is the 'storage' folder for TRS06. It makes it easier for TRS and CMP to keep track of content. When you open an item for edit, CMP converts the binary 'stored' file to a 'normal' file, in the editing folder, so that you can edit it.

All up, it is just to make TRS run faster, and helps you to keep more control over assets that are installed :)

Also makes backing up your TRS content easier...

Hahaha! Who trusts the stuff written on here by some of the incoherent anonymous posters? The manual spells out a little of what's happening, in their usual style of 'press this, and then that happens', what I was looking for was some clue about the architecture and how and why that is how it is.

A search on here for 'realistic engine settings class 37' doesn't show up much, anyone any clues as to what might be better than the default TRS2006 settings? I suppose I could copy over the settings file from UTC, that seems more realistic. Where do they get the current settings from? Some look realistic (weight and so on) but acceleration, deceleration?

A suggestion maybe

Class 37 engine parameters?
Class 37 engine performance?
Class 37 engine specifications?
Class 37 engine etc... and the beat goes on and on....

Yeah I know what you mean I have had this drama before.

Everbody uses different search terms and sometimes the old fuddy duddies will tell you off for asking a question that seems to or has already been answered,

*******************************************

Note to fuddies, we don't all speak proper or search for the SAME terms within a search box, so please have some patience, after all you learnt to talk from others right?

There that told em!

hit and hope friend thats my advice
