Locating/Running Murchison 2 Add On

We are Trainz Newbies, and are having a problem locating and running the Murchison 2 Add On.

We initially purchased the Murchison 2 Add On via Steam, assuming it would run under Trainz 12. When we ran it from the Murchison 2 Start Icon, it run perfectly, although it seemed to install and run under Trainz 9.

Today we decided to purchase Trainz 2010 Deluxe Engineers Ed. (again via Steam), and installed it.
Now when we attempt to launch (run) the Murchison 2 program from its own startup Icon, the program launches Trainz 2010, and we cannot locate or run any Murchison content. If we launch Trainz 2010, we cannot locate any Murchison content.

Any help sincerely appreciated!

You need to reinstall the addon pack, and choose to install it as an addon, not standalone.

Installing Murchison 2 as an Add On

Hi Shane,

Thank you for your prompt reply to our inquiry!

We are installing via Steam (download). We are not sure how to install the Murchison as an Add On?

We deleted the Murchison and the Trainz 2010 Engineers Edition.

We are assuming we need to reinstall the Trainz 2010 first.

How do we specify (or install) the Murchison as an Add On? Will this be a menu choice?

As long as Trainz is installed and is running correctly, the Murchinson 2 addon should offer to install as an addon to the chosen version.

Be aware that if you are using Windows Vista or 7, you may need to be running the Steam client as an administrator (see my tutorial website if you are unsure on how to do this)
