Little secret Ai trainz

Maybe I'm not saying anything new.. but I would like to share what I discovered with the community.. has it ever happened to you that a train controlled by the artificial intelligence of trainz stops stuck in front of several intersections without being able to move them and then asks for help... ?? maybe it only moves the first two and then gets stuck and doesn't move forward?? well try this way: on all the levers of the intersections change the range of action .. for those who are not familiar with it, do it like this:: select the track tab, then the track side objects tab, at the bottom open the advanced tab and change the value from 20 m to 500 m (like when you want to change the range of action of a trigger or trackMark
) click on the switch lever, you will see a huge yellow diamond appear, do it for all the switches where the train has difficulty moving them.. with this system you will no longer have blocking problems, you will see that the AI will turn all the switches in a second.. at least it works for me.. I wanted to share with you what I discovered.. greetings

That's an interesting tip, although I can see that may cause other issues such as blocked routes due to AI blocking the line.

The regular method uses signals such as absolute signals to stop the AI drivers from entering a line.

I tested this method on a reproduction of an Italian terminus station (Milan) with many arrival and departure platforms and the trains respect the order of arrival and departure without interfering with each other and without blocking.. at the moment of departure or arrival, they immediately find the way to exit or enter.. after 20 years I am starting to have my satisfactions...

That is a really good test then. I have a really, really, busy terminal on my large route I built over the years. The AI are always getting in each other's way as they come and go.

When you set this up, do you do this for all the junctions in the terminal, or only the throat area where all the tracks come together?

I've been using Trainz for only a couple of years more than you. It's amazing how time flies all these years and how much we're still learning nearly every day.
