I ran across this while bouncing on a website, and have to admit that I didn't even KNOW this locomotive ever existed.
Apparently, Vulcan (yes the same Vulcan in the UK) built a 0-4-4-0 Fairlie for the D&RGW. The loco is thought to have survived until the route was standardized. Pics are hard to find, but here's a good one.
