I"ve noticed one or two Trainzers are from Lincolnshire and I wondered if anyone could :- tell me whether in 1976 the level crossings at High Street and East Holmes were Manual Gates or Barriers and whether any detailed Track and Signalling plans for that period are available? St Marks would be useful as well..;)

There are some excellent arial photographs and a detailed plan in "The Lincolnshire Loop Line (GNR) and the River Witham" by AJ Ludlam and several great photographs of both crossings, but they date from around 57. Both crossings are manual at that time but there is nothing more up to date. I'm sure someone will have more info.

Both High St. & East Holmes were powered gates in 1976.

Will have a look in my hordings to see if i have anything in the way of trackplans for that era. :)

Lived in the City most of my life. :D

Cool.I first visited Lincoln in 1979 and I have some photos somehere but I"ll have to dig them out.My favourite thing was bashing the Deltics on Sunday diversions. That and the coal fire in the Down side waiting room..

Have looked & see that the crossing gates in the High Street near Lincoln Central were removed in January 1991 as was the footbridge close by for use by pedestrains when the crossing gates were closed. I also see that in Febraury 1991 there are some pics of Class91's being dragged through Lincoln on ECML diversions. There was no getting off the train & being transferred to coaches then. I even remember steam hauled diversions via Lincoln & the Joint Line. Before Pelham Bridge was built there also used to be more crossing gates on Canwick Road, Durham Ox Crossing. John

Thanks guys. Those track diagrams are exactly what I was looking for.I think the rarest phot I have is a one of a class 31 hauling a rake of Class 313s through the centre roads past the old "gallows" signal..
