Light Brown Ballasted Track

Hi there,

I am at present experimenting with changing the track on one of my routes. I was reading about samplaire's track and downloaded a pile, chose one I liked, and tried it. It looked great until you moved a train on it. Then the track changed as the train moved, so about 100 yards in front of the train the track kind of "morphed". I think this has something to do with LOD, but am not too clued up in that area.

So I changed back. I really would like to get some better detailed track, ideal would be one built for 2009, wood with a light brown color, like the "Wood 1t" built in, that is what I am using right now with some bits of MP Wood v2.

I am a little hamstrung for power, as I use a laptop, but it has an I7 with 4GB RAM and a dedicated 1GB video card, so lower poly would be better, at least I think that is the right expression.

Anyone got any suggestions?

Regards,

Dave

Thanks Bob,

Now all I have to do is get it from the DLS, which is getting to be a real pain.

Well it's always been a pain ;)

I'll give it a try then. Is there any way round the problem with the samplaire track, regarding the effect I am talking about?

Regards,

Dave

There is Koleje Roz and Koleje Drevo, that are excellent Chunk Mesh tracks, like MP Wood v2

BTW: does MP Rusty show up, and display well in TS12 ?

Is MP Rusty "hard to get" as the HP Trainz Josefpav site has bee under construction for 2 years.

Who, out there is unable to find MP Rusty track ?

Bob,

"samplaire: I just wanted you to know, that I downloaded your Sam Track II/B Class Ov5..It is a great product..I'm in the project of putting it Through out my layout I like it so well..Thank you for a good product"

I lifted this from Samplaire's thread. Do you get that "morphing effect, or do you just put up with it?

Cascade,

Where do you get the Koleje Roz and Drevo, sounds east European???

Dave

Scottish,

Thanks for the link. I see there are some trees etc., are these built for TS09?

Cascade,

Thanks for the tip, I will be sure to try that.

Dave

Dave: Go ahead and download the DB Track and you won't get that effect..As far as the Samplaire Track, I guess what you are talking about is, I get a dazzaling effect in front of the train that I just ignore..

Dave

These are the well known Trunda trees which were probably the most realistic trees for Ts2004, 2006 but only look good if running in compatability mode in 2009. They are not built-in in 2009. If you have installed SP4 for 2009 and have antialiasing set to 4, some of them are OK in native mode. These are billboarded trees which like many other trees made with the same method can be visually poor in native mode. If you search the DLS for author Jankvis, the trees with ~ in the title were specifically made for 2009 native.

Scottish,

Right, after replying to you I looked and found I had them and they are no good for me, and thanks, I already have some of Jankvis' trees.

Bob

I did try some G - track and have that on the route for now. I may change it out with the DB Track, but I quite like the G - track.

Dave
