Layout download issues

Hi everyone,

I'm running TS12 and I'm having issues with download station. When I find a layout that I want to download it, I click on download, CMP opens up and it loads it into CMP but comes up red and if I hover th mouse over the red part it says unknown content error.

This happens with every layout I try to download. I can download buildings or locos without issues, but not layouts.

any suggestions would be great

Thanks

Not gonna try to download every layout to test, got some example names and KUID numbers?

Okay, I don't have an FCT at the moment, but I'm trying Cajon Pass and seeing this;

Are you getting something like this?

If that's what you're getting with the "couldn't obtain a download URL" error, check you have 3.6 showing in the content manager title bar, upper left corner. Latest patch for TS12 is 49922, check the lower right corner of the launch screen for your build number.

I had this problem a few weeks ago. I ran an extended data base repair. Then re-entered my log in password details. This seemed to fix the problem.

That is no longer the case - the Steam version has been updated, and is a number starting 533 (details are in a thread in the TS12 forum).

Assuming a non-STEAM version, 49922 is still the latest, no? Or can people with a regular TS12 version apply the STEAM patch to it?

Whatever it is, STEAM or non STEAM version, main thing is if the asset you're trying to download says build 3.3 or 3.4 you should be able to download with a new unpatched install of TS12, but if it shows 3.6 for a build number you'll get that red overlay with the error message at the bottom, because content manager 3.4 or 3.5 doesn't recognize the build number 3.6 and doesn't know what it is.

Just occurred to me, by default I don't think the build number is shown? For n00bs, take some time to learn content manager and all its settings;

You can add new title bars, then grab the bars and move them to arrange to taste;

You can click on each title bar to arrange the list by type, name, author, KUID number, or in this case build number, clicking the same bar again shows reverse order.

Other item, even if the build number is at or below your content manager version;

Sometimes it's just a temporary glitch. 477 and 481 are reskins of the same model, build 2.9, why it can find the one and not the other is merely electronic hiccups. So hit the Clear button to empty the download helper list and try again.

Oh, THAT 477, yeah I know where that is! :hehe:

The Steam patch will only work with Steam versions, as it's from Valve's systems. For English versions of TS12, 49922 is still the latest, but non-English regional versions have a higher build number than this.
