Later BR Condor motive power?

Suffering for his art.
Been trying to research this using google but all I can find out is that after the CO-BOs were withdrawn from the service they were replaced by more reliable Class 4 diesels. What loco classes does this cover (presumable they don't mean class 04s)... Here's the page I got the info from to help explain what I mean...

Cheers again all

It'd be more accurate to say 'Type 4', ie 2000-2999 HP.

Type 4 would cover anything from : class 40, class 42, class 43, class 44/45/46, class 47, class 50, and class 52

On that route, it'd most likely be a 45 or 47, at a guess, with perhaps a chance of it being a 40 if nothing better was available.

Edit to add:

Bear in mind also, that post-1974 express freight switched to electric straight away, so after 1974 it'd almost certainly be class 86, or perhaps a class 85. Prior to 1974, but after 1960 they might even have switched locomotives to an electric (class 83-85) at crewe.
