I know of Angelah and her detailed routes. Just wondering, how many ladies, girls, wifes, etc play trains? Usually they don,t but it seems to me that the trainz world offers something that a lot of sports don,t. So come on girls, Give us some idea if you're there.

I play both virtual and model Trains :) and my Fiancee Kate also likes to do the same too :)

My wife enjoys scale model railroading, train rides and museum events. No luck on trainz yet though!

Regards,

Lorin:wave:

Just testing

Apart from just testing the routes I make, I rarely actually go play trains.... it bores me to tears!

On the odd occasion I do it's just to run a train along a long route, mainly to look at scenery, not to do any complex goods movements.

To avoid problems and keep their privacy many will often use a male or gender neutral name.

Yes, well pointed out John, unsure what motives this baz has for asking such a question, I also fail to see what sports and trains have in common anyway, he must be one of our newer younger members, as us veterans have never asked such a thing in the 5 years I've been around, they deserve our respect and gracious thanks for all they have offered the community over the years with their content creativety, screenshots, suggestions, help and advice, etc, etc.

Without our Ladies, Trainz would be a much poorer hobby......

I very nearly did (the last time I went near any form of gaming forum I had trouble and gave up) but this time I thought "stuff it". I'm glad I didn't though - unlike many forums, this seems to be a very safe place. :)

Incidentally I should be at the Swanage Diesel Gala tomorrow if anyone wants to try and spot me in person. ;)

Uni trainz

Tell ya the truth, I don't see why there needs to be a division between men and women here. It's a common enjoyment of the train simulator game. And we all know every machine ever made was given a feminine name! The rule here should be to let all divisions; sex, age, handicaps, even country of origin (which will always hold a difference in respect to views on humor); be set aside as members of a common and equal community. I don't think our newbe was meaning or doing anything wrong to recognize the "Women of Trainz"!
PS: Now guess there should be a womans version coming out with pink locomotives and lace on all the windows, Headlights of diamond and taillights of rubies.
( Na, nevermind. I think they like it just as it is!)

My wife Linda, who goes under the same user name as me bnsf50, is into trains. I got her started back in Feb. 06 by breaking out some paintshed skins into a grey scale PSP tga so she could use PSP instead of paintshed to skin them. All of the what I call fun cars, for kids, big or small. under our kuid were done by her. She mostly work's on routes now. She, like Angela, doesn't like to drive the trains, but only for testing. She's also a big help to me in the research area for things that I'm building in Gmax. I haven't got her talked into using Gmax yet. She hears me swearing too much over it periodically.:D

@ American Connection
She has some jello and candy cars on the DLS. I'll check to see if she has any pudding and ice cream cars planned for ya.

She just told me she already has the waffle cars made, so ice cream would be appropriate.

Oh no, you just started something, she just found her ice cream and pudding pictures. So look for some on the DLS soon.

I think it's great that women would be involved in Trainz and doing well.

Angela does awesome routes, then there's Maddy25 who does excellent models and the YARN roads, yeah ok "yet another road network roads" whatever, I don't care.:p

If you take the trains out of Trainz, you're left with a rather marvellous program that allows architects and any person interested in landscaping or urban design to come up with wonderful 3d models of their projects. This leads us into the kind of stuff women excel in, so maybe there should be a separate program called Landscapes or something, which has equal appeal to women and men. The software could even be flogged this way, as is, at exhibitions etc., by not pushing the train component. If only there was an easy way to incorporate Sketchup models because that program is easier to use than gMax and it's really taken off since Google got involved.

I once had a girl who liked me that thought that me being into Trains was great.
She was great herself...then I left the church that she was at...then I moved. Things go downhill fast! Anyway if we still knew each other, I think she would be right here on this forum too. I hoped to get her into Trainz.
Maybe I'll get the chance again...
My mom thinks its great that I have a way to fuel my passion using Trainz.
My grandma loves the way you can create routes and what not.
I think a lot of women still think of railroading as a dirty "mens" thing, I can back that statement up by saying that I know women that think that.
