G'day All, well stone the crows my main pooter broke, it dicided it could not find the boot disc. I have tried a few tricks but to no avail so I will use this as an excuse to install a new SSD and attend to a few things that have been on the backburner.
Luckily I do not have trainz on the C drive (and never have).
When I do my first restart I will just start with the C drive plugged in and see if that helps if not I will just reload windoze and go from there.
It's funny how things happen just when you think all is well and you start to enjoy trainz.

G'day, well I sorted out the boot disc problem and windoze is going OK now but it appears my external backup drive (2gig) has lost or damaged allocation table and I am in the process of doing a recovery and should know how it has gone in 4-5 hours, so fingers crossed as there are some virtually irreplaceable files there. Between windoze and trainz it is a wonder any of us have any hair left and are not residing in a mental institution.

I'll have you know, there's nothing wrong with mental institutions.
(now where's nurse with my medication ..................)

Regards, a bald man in straightjacket. :hehe:

G'day, the data recovery process reports that there are 9,490,660 files found and the copy process will take 4 days, by that time I'll have trainz withdrawal syndrome and be climbing the walls.

Daft reply coming up, why not usb the old and new external to a lappatoppa and let that sit for 4 days.

G'day fran1, I don't have a lap top and my old PC is too sllooooooowww. I can wait the important thing is the restoration of those files and once that is done the important ones will be burnt to DVD's. once bitten twice shy.
