Just got Trainz 2006. Looking for urban routes.

I've prodded around with the DLS thing and found a few urban routes listed, but there doesn't seem to be any content rating system in place, and given that there's a 100 megabyte per day cap on downloads, I can't really just indiscriminately download EVERYTHING.

So, what user made routes that involve more urban environments are good? Also, are any of the included routes more urban-themed? The location Tutorials... 3 and 6, I believe, are set in looks kind of like they have a city in them, and then there's the maglev map, but beyond that everything else looks really rural (Kind of disappointed that Modula City is just a demo or something. The box had a picture of it featured, and didn't really indicate that it wasn't a full-version line).

Also, I remember seeing some screenshots of a route where there's this... wooden train station/hotel/boardwalk jutting out into the water from some tropical island, and the tracks also go out over the water and along this. Which line is this from?

Dunno which route you mean - but possibly "Kauai"?

If you're looking for freght ops in an urban environment, try "IndustRail". Yo will find that all the dependencies are on the Download Station, though if you are starting from scratch it will be more than your 100MB/day free allowance.

But then, if you are serious about Trainz I'd suggest seriously considering a First Class Ticket 'cause most routes are usually heavily dependent on downloads.

Hi MeshGearFox.
I think that from Modula City again if you look in the map view you will see it better.;)

That sounds like the Trainz Classics version of Modula City (also included in TS2009 so I've heard) - I don't think that bit's in the Demo version.

There's a lot of Urban routes out there - it might help if you can give an idea of region (eg. US /Europe) and traction (Metro, Trams, Subway, Freight etc) that you're interested in. That will help us narrow it down and help you use your 100Mb more wisely.

Both of my published routes on the DLS are urban, but they may not be what you want. The DLS descriptions will give you more of an idea (I'll resist the temptation to plug them any more here).

Hello, That boardwalk and island is part of a enhanced (and larger) Modula City (called Metropolis Route) it one of the only two routes you get with Trainz Railwayz (in the US) Otherwise I think it's Trainz Classics 1&2.

In these routes you can get into the trains and trams with the passengers. The passengers are done very well, And the quality of the trains and scenery is noticably better than average. There is a great trolley repair barn in that Metropolis city! With real repair pits, and at least a few 'pin-up' calenders on the guys' lockers !!

The other route , 'Harlem Line' is fairly straight and could be boring, but the nice passenger enabled stations and scenery are available in Surveyor.

That Island is fairly small but very beautiful and relaxing. It looks like only a demo, but you can modify them in Surveyor, (save them with a different name) There is a guy on here, (I forget his name) who has specialized in modifying that island. The island is called Little Boga.

Railwayz can still be gotten if you look around the internet in the usual places... Have a great new year! Bob P.

Is there any thing that you can do to unlock the content? i wan't to unlock the content to use it, the problem is that it is locked. CMP does not want me to unlock it.
