Just bought Trainz 2009

I just bought Trainz 2009 WBE after seeing it at Office Depot near me. I have some questions, what are the differences between the new 2010 edition and 2009? I'm currently using 2004 sp4, and plan to continue using it because I have a lot of work on it and tons of downloads. But, if I wanted to copy 2004 content to 2009, is there an easy way to do it because 2004 uses open folders that are user accessible, but 2006 and up uses CMP and the folders are only accessible through CMP I think, and you can't go to the Trainz directory in Windows and access the files there to add/remove files or make changes. Is there any new content or features in 2010 that would make it worthwhile to upgrade at a future date? Which version is more backwards compatible towards 2004 content and less errors with older content? Also, if I have a 2004 route that has a lot of built-in items, how would I use it in 2009? Does 2009 have all 2004 built-in assets or would I have to copy the .ja files over or something? I'm not looking forward to the end of new 2004 content on the DLS, but at least I have 2009 now so I can slowly move some layouts over that I want to upgrade and be able to add new content to after September. I haven't installed 2009 yet or opened the box. Last, do Ben Neal's steam locos work in 2009?

G'Day rwk, In CMP go to "FILE" then "IMPORT CONTENT" then navigate to the folder containing your content, if you just select the "downloads folder" it will load the entire contents of the folder, otherwise you can just select the folders ( you can only select one folder at a time) you want to load.
Hope this helps.

Note:- you will have to commit (and possibly fix) these assets once loaded.

Slight disagreement there - CM2,by default, should automatically commit the content during import(Check the Settings box,Miscellaneous tab to check whether this box is ticked)

Two major new features in TS2010 compared with TS2009 are SpeedTrees and Layers.

SpeedTrees are animated trees but I think it's fair to say that at the moment their animation speed system hasn't been properly tuned by Auran's programmers. A future service pack may fix the problems.

Layers allow different elements of a layout to be edited independently. As well as helping when objects are close to each other, layers also allow variations for different seasons, and for different activities. Up to SP1 Surveyor didn't make it very obvious which layer was being edited, which caused much frustration and woe. I don't know if SP2 is better in that respect.
