JR tunnels in TS12 not playing nice with other tracks

Greetings guys,

I am facing a slight issue which I can't figure out, and hence this thread. Straight to the point; the built-in JR tunnels in TS12 (originally working fine) appears to not want to connect to any other piece of track (in build 49922). I have searched in alot of places but all of these threads about the same issue turn out to be dead-end routes (ie. nobody ever replies) which I hope is not the case this time as I would really like to use these beautifully well-made tunnels in my route. In fact they are the last "bug" in the route before being fit for release. Tunnels that were installed prior to 49922 appear and work perfectly fine. However, if I break a spline point I will be unable to reconnect it.

I have also briefly considered the option of temporarily installing the route into 46957, putting the tunnels in then bringing it back into 49922. However bringing a route from higher build number into lower build number will cause a CMP error and the route will not show up in Trainz. Changing the build number may (?) break dependencies or something along the route and I don't want to risk this happening due to the way Trainz handles missing assets in routes; if an asset is missing, faulty or broken, it will not show up and saving it is as good as deleting the assets from the route. This very same thing happened to the route recently where all my portals (and their configurations which I spent many hours on) essentially disappeared.

Does anyone know a workaround or fix to this issue please?

Thanks,
Nicholas

The content manager does not display errors in built-in content. So I opened the JR Ms Lt Grey Tunnel for edit then copied it to another folder then reverted it. Then I changed the kuid from kuid2:45324:38026:1 to kuid2:45324:38026:2 then imported it back. A Red Exclamation mark (faulty) appeared! Five .texture.txt files are missing. Add these missing files and the asset should work.

Had same problem.. I got the feeling it was fixed in the later patches but not sure.. I just worked around it by putting track through the tunnels without connecting.

Hi guys, thanks for the response. I have also previously considered laying over separate track as was usual practice in old times. However 1) this tunnel had excellent track that perfectly match the outside ones and 2) both tunnels are on a curve and a gradient, which means the tunnels will not align with the track as compared to a straight-shot scenario.

There are 2 possible solutions at this point: set istunnel tag to 0, [try to] connect it, change it back to 1. Or the 5 missing textures. If Kenneth doesn't have them all I can think of is doing a temporary install of TS12 46957 just to pull out all the textures from the JR tunnel asset, uninstall that and try to put said textures into 49922.

Will post back with results, hopefully this can help others in the future.

Cheerio,
Nicholas

Used Pev's Images2TGA tool to convert the .texture files to .tga files and deleted the .texture files. Now there are no errors But tracks still will not attach.

The .texture.txt files are not missing. Built-in assets use .texture files and don't require .texture.txt files with .tga (or other graphics) files.
