Jointed Rail Track

Anybody able to help me with taking an existing track and setting it up to automatically place rail joints at certain intervals?

What I'm trying to do is take JR's Dark Track and create a Jointed version for yards, with the sounds to go with it. I know USLW has a track out that automatically includes the Joint Bars at regular intervals, but it is way too high-poly for what I'm doing.

Thanks.

I reskined a chunky mesh track (MP Track Wood v2), (with a high poly tracks texture), and it looked 200% better, and curved fabulously, with no kinks in turnouts, and the framerates were super in multi tracked yards.

Not sure if you fully understood me. I'm trying to do what USLW did with their 132-lb Jointed Rail Track (auto-populating joint bars) with JR's Dark Track. I have other tracks, both chunky and otherwise, and I decided to keep using the JR track because it looks great and doesn't really affect my route that much.

A bit off topic but lately, I have been seeing some screenshots of rusty tracks from Jointed Rail. I have downloaded all of there tracks and they are not rusty. The ones from the site are very good but I have seen some screenshots of some rusty Jointed Rail Tracks. Would anyone know where I can find those. They would be good for abandoned trackage or sidings along mainlines or rails for trails.

1. Get Paint.NET

2. Go into CMP

3. Clone the JR MS Lt Gray Dirty track in Explorer.

4. Open the clone, and find the track and reflect textures.

5. Play with them in Paint.NET until you are happy and save them.

6. Commit the asset, name it JR MS Lt Gray Rusty, and go into the game.

7. Lay it in Surveyor and decide if you like it.

8. If yes, then continue, if no, then repeat Steps 4-7.

9. Re-open your new track, and replace the ballast textures with whatever JR Track Ballast texture you want, and rename the asset accordingly.

I now have JR Dark Gray Dirty/rusty track for my yards, now i just need a way of auto-jointing it.

Now, if you were talking about USLW's track, with joints in the mesh, then do to the DLS for the rusty versions. Author: dricketts.

Can I see a screenshot or two of your reskinned JR rusty track. I also use Jeh wood tracks from the DLS. Those are also good for sidings, mainlines, or branch line shuttles.

This ain't the best shot, but it shows the effect when compared to the regular track. This is from my modified UMR 2013 route. I'm making a huge rail yard at Eso Flats. I'm still trying to find out how to get the track to automatically insert rail joints, if that is even possible.

Looks great ... When I get whoop dee doos in switches like that, it means that the switch deverging spline point must be slid down the track.

I lay an obtusive track right overtop of the yard ladder @ 0.10m above the yard ladder ... straighten it & position it carefully ... then use it as a straight edge guide to slide my yard ladder switch spline points all in line.

I flip the levers to the outside of the turnout.

Dis' is a "Whoop Dee Doo" where track goes WHoooOOOoo ! (right in front of the blue loco, on the red spot).

I used MB Track No Ballast as a straight edge guide (laid directly overtop of the yard ladder track)

Anyone know if there is a JR rusty track version out there? I really like this track but i wish there was a rusty version for shortlines and spurs and maybe a sunken or weedy version for yards. similar to Norfolksoutherns standard rusty track.
