NorthWest Ohio Trainz2010
The DLS is rarely full! and it's been 6 days of trying to download stuff everytime I try it says, The servers full. I've tryed fixing the internet it's fine, I've messed around with the CMP doesnt work. Is there a fix to it without buying a FCT? Gosh I really need some help. Before I rip my hair out.

Ever since the reduction of the Trainz Team, the DLS has suffered. It has been plagued with server failures and now (apparently) only updates every Tues and Thurs. It would appear that this is just another one of those bugs (I am SO not looking forward to losing my FCT at the end of the month... :( ).

I know, They need to step it up a bit Because I guarantee people are stop coming here. What we need is a few sites owned by auran. and split the content on diffrent servers.

It must be your connection. I just tried to download via CMP and it's working right now.
A FCT is only $10/year and if you download much it is a bargain.

my CMP wont work either, I reinstalled trainz after wiping my comp now although it updates the database everytime and reads my ticket status (which i just purchased for a year), it wont search or show any results, real useful and no reply from tech support either.

Am I glad I can still use good ol'reliable FTP to get any objects from the DLS. Of course 2004 didn't have this CMP so that's one less problem I have to deal with.

Besides, isn't there more to Trainz than just downloading? Driving trainz, building routes, creating new objects just to name a few. I can go weeks even months between downloading and I use Trainz almost every day.

Well butter, I'm downloading right now thru the FCT server....if you want to try it.

FCT

Don't buy a FCT whatever you do. I got a 3-month one free when I bought TRS2006. Surprise! Surprise! I was unable to use it at any time during the 3 months!

I activated a 30 day one I got free when I bought trainz 2006. It had been waiting there patiently for almost 2 years. I download with it absolutly with no problems at speeds of almost 20Mbs and caught up with mirroring the DLS using ftp in less than a day.

I have had an FCT now for over 3 years. And generally speaking have never had any problems with it.

And I'll renew mine when it comes due. I'd even pay a modest annual fee if it would get us a reliable DLS.

I have yet to get a download to 'Download'... I get to DLS then I just loose the loco or whatever it was. I get download manager to check of the parts I'm downloading. The Search action panel Has 2 drop downs. What one do I choose? If I click on save it opens another window asking for a filter name. What goes here?
It seems very complicated.

Nect to my FCT it says 127.47MB downloaded Total. Where have they all gone.. They're not in surveyor...

Please help me....

what version are you using. I'm not familiar with 2006, but from reading some threads on the forum, I believe that you have to commit in the CMP.
If it's 2004, then you may have to delete the Program Flies/Auran/TRS2004/Cache/world_cache_dispatcher_chump file. Trainz will rebuild the file upon start and your downloaded content shoud then appear.

Your mixing up functions here. To download an asset, you right click on it and select Download. The item will appear in the Download Helper Action Panel. CMP will search for dependencies and when ready the size parameter should show and you can click the Start button in the Download Helper Action Panel. When it has finished you click on the Open for Edit tab at the top of CMP and it will list the items. Right click on one and pick Select All then press and hold the Ctrl key and press M to commit the assets. This puts them into the database in your TRS2006\Local folder.

With regard to the Search and Save question, the Search Action Panel lets you set up search filters to narrow the displayed list in the main view panel. If there is a combination that you want to use often you can click on the Save button and give it a name. This newly named filter will appear in the list of filters along the top of CMP.

You should read your TRS2006 online manual which you can select from the TRS2006 launch window.

Thanks Bob
I'm now reading what I should have from day1........... you might hear from me when I come up for air.
... guess I wanted to play trains too quickley. I had a great route saved of my local station as it was in the 60s. Looks like I should have done the Hills, Valleys, Rivers a coast line first.... do'h!

Ah well............ see ya later.
