In mid-April last I had to drop everything at a moments notice and travelled overseas expecting the worst when I arrived in the UK.
My 93 year old Mother said 'goodbye', to me by phone from her hospital bed because she was ill and not expected to last more than a few days.
Well, I made it in time to see her again and thanks to my wife, we were able to look after my mother in her home and afford her a little TLC and wholesome food in the form of a balanced diet.
Six months later, my mother, now 94, has put on weight and is doing as well as one can expect for someone that age.
I considered that it was the least that I could do, after all, at one stage in my life, she took care of me when I was helpless, as a baby!
I learnt a lot in that six months, about my mother, my wife, my family and mostly about myself.
Perhaps, I was forced to slow down, take time out from a busy life and reflect on other things, things that I'd never thought about before.
I had withdrawl symptoms, from PC's and Trainz, I've got over that, but now I'm back home and back to the availibility of my own computer once again!
I must take better control of my time and just like my mum, have a 'balanced diet', of mental food and physical exercise.
Instead of sitting infront of my PC for hours at a time, playing Trainz and other similar games, I realise the importance of a 'balance' with everything in life.
Especially, if I have any expectations of reaching the same age as my Mum, which I very much doubt.
I'm glad to be back, nevertheless.
Thanks, 'Auran'. for great computer programs and excellent support so that people of all ages can enjoy!
