Is there a way to install c.t.c.

Is there any program or download that would let you conrol our routes like true c.t.c. I was thinking something that we would click, then a second winow would open, with a true c.t.c. panel witch we could scroll across and set signals and switches. I have been finding the automatic setting of signals sometimes leads to operating problems. I know when Train dispatcher 3 was realesed it had the option of hooking it to a model railroad to operate it with c.t.c. screens, does anyone know if that might work for trainz? Thank you for any help.

hi mate
i have never heard of anything like it or i would be using it by now. my route is set up in blocks with signalling.
cheers

Thanks for the info misterchugg, to bad there's nothing out there. But if I get some time between trips I might start working on something.

Excuse my ignorance.

What does the acronym "c.t.c." stand for? Is it "Central Train Control"? If it is how does that differ from "Minimap" apart from its appearance not being prototypical?

Mini-map is good...

 ...at least that's what we have...

You can turn-off a number of attributes on the mini-map view.

Whilst laying track, I use mini-map for both viewing the Topo overlay as well as no texture view for viewing gradient.

Without the texture view, mini-map becomes a dispatchers model-board, showing all or part of track & trackside objects.

The only difference is that with TrainDispatcher, you have full control over routes at all times, vs the AI Diver commands in Trainz.

You can change points/switches in Minimap and the signals follow the rules. After that it's down to the driver.

I understand we can control switches on the mini-map, what I was thinking about was a system to control signals. That way we could stop a train anywhere, and anytime we want.

at the moment i set mine up with signals as a blcok system.
it keeps the AI trains reasonably well behaved.
you will be able to check it soon when i upload my route
cheers
