Is the DS Station acting Slow?

Inn

Mr.Inn
I went on the DL station and for some unknown reason it was acting very slow.. It would load but it would take like 40 years! Yes, I do have a FCT - Just wondering if Auran fixed the problem..

It's not an act, it really IS slow. Uploads are even slower, 24 to 96 hours sitting in the unprocessed section isn't unusual lately.

I think the posters here are talking about two different issues. Inn and gary6204 are referring to bit transfer rates in downloads while sniper297 is referring to the time it takes to get an upload approved for acceptance on the DLS.

No, the black page DLS has been slow too, I click on the login then look at "waiting for www.auran.com" for two or three minutes. Earlier today I waited five minutes before giving up. Affects the content manager list in TS12 for some reason too, blinking and flashing on and off every few seconds when looking at the asset lists. Oddly it didn't affect the one in TS2010 the same way at the same time.

Its BACK !!

Just to add fuel to the fire - TS10 Content Manager says it is validating me. But I gave up waiting. TS2012 says that I do not exist and I must register. Oh well, if Sony and Sega fail and now little N3V aka Auran. At least you can use the product offline.

EDIT 6:50 EDT
Now both products working. Must have had the people in Houston do a reboot or they wired funds to them.

Broken here at the moment - TS2010 CM 3.3 doesn't display the "unable to connect to planet auran", but the My Content tab shows "Author #" with no number and remains blank. I type in 522774 and get it all listed in the "Current Search" tab, so it does acknowledge I exist. That's a relief.

Ain't Workin

Err, its now working.

No its not (again) :D :'( Can't log into main portal page. Direct to forum index obviously works. Shaky outfit.... Database must be as old as the graphics main program. Heard it was written in COBOL. :hehe:

Nope, Fortran. :sleep: Working again in CM3.3, I was beginning to wonder if I was really who I thought I was. :confused: Funny thing is I'm currently working on updating all my Alco RS3 and RSD5 locos to use my own engine spec (the DLS cleanup project quality assurance apparently feels that a spec that originally worked fine in TS2010 native mode is A-OK if the update no longer works in cab mode), and changing all them lines;

enginespec <kuid:52779:50001>
to
enginespec <kuid:522774:100108>

gets kinda weird because I gotta double check the numbers each time while squinting thru these greasy bifocals. If I could only see well enough to find that blasted Windex bottle. :hehe:

DL Station

I have tried all day to download I have a yearly FCT dont know why its so slow think i will be moveing back to Train-Sim and claim a refund

All the kids are out of school and the DLS is probably overloaded. This happens every year, and during the school year during weekends. Grin and bear it. It goes with the territory, whether you have an FCT or not. But once things simmer down, you will be glad you have it.

Yep, the DLS is very slow at times now, I'm guessing its being hammered by a lot of users. Last nite, I waited several minutes for a detail view of an asset, to decide if I wanted to download it.

That's weird. I don't have a fct and my downloads are getting faster and faster like around 18kbps instead of 9 and 10 kbps. The site is loading fine for me.

This might save the pain...

http://www.rjlsoftware.com/software/utility/search/

I use this all the time to adjust typos in config files. This saves a lot of time, and is less tiring on the eyes.

Anyway to keep this post on topic, the DLS and the website overall has been terribly slow. I think this is due to all the youngster out of school now and playing games online. We've had some nice weather here, and there hasn't been a kid in sight!
